Niven, Larry (1938–)

Larry Niven
American science fiction writer (Laurence van Cott Niven) whose novels are populated by a well-integrated variety of anatomically and neurologically diverse aliens from his Known Space stable, including tripedal Pierson's puppeteers, Outsiders, exposed to space in their skeletal "spaceships", and the racially paranoid Trinocs. Among his best known works is Ringworld1 (1970).
