nobelium (No)



A radioactive, metallic element that is a member of the actinide series and also a transuranic element. It was first made in 1958 by bombarding curium with carbon at the University of California at Berkeley. Seven isotopes are known, the most stable of which is 255No (half-life 3 minutes).
