pedicel

  1. In botany, "pedicel" is the botanical term for a flower stalk. The pedicel attaches an individual flower to the peduncle (the main primary floral axis), often growing out of the axil of a bract.

  2. In zoology, the pedicel is the second joint of an insect's antenna or any other stalk-like appendage.
