planisphere

  1. planisphere
    A circular star map drawn for a given latitude, having a rotary overlay that shows which constellations are visible at any time and date in the year.

  2. A map in which the celestial sphere is projected onto a plane surface, especially in a polar projection, and to which a grid system is added to help locate celestial objects.
