    Sproul Observatory

    The observatory at Swarthmore College, near Philadelphia, where Peter van der Kamp, Kaj A. Strand, and Sarah Lee Lippincott worked in the middle decades of this century to try to detect planets around nearby stars. Its main instrument during this period was a 24-in. refractor.
