Still, Andrew Taylor (1828–1917)

Andrew Taylor Still
US founder of osteopathy. After three of his children died in an epidemic of spinal meningitis, he devised a treatment based on the theory that most physical disorders were caused by "structural derangement" of the body, which could be remedied by manipulations of bones and muscles without the use of drugs.
