septum

A thin dividing wall within or between parts of the body. For example, the septum nasi (nasal septum) is the cartilage and bony partition that separates the two nasal chambers (nostrils).

In the heart, the atria (upper chambers) are separated by a partition known as the interatrial septum; the ventricles (lower chambers) are separated by the interventricular septum.
