sperm




Or spermatoza, the male gamete, or sex cell, in animals. It corresponds to the female ovum. The head of the sperm contains the genetic material of the male parent, while its flagellum or tail, or other motile structure, provides the means of moving to the ovum to carry out fertilization.

Sperm are formed by the process of spermatogenesis.
