string puzzle

The origins of puzzles using string, a form of disentanglement puzzle, are lost in antiquity but one of the earliest stories involving this type of problem is that of the Gordian Knot. Today many kinds of string puzzle are available, most of which involve removing a ring from loops of string that are threaded through a solid (typically wooden) body.
