    WIYN Telescope

    A 3.5-meter reflector that is the second largest optical telescope on Kitt Peak, Arizona, after the Mayall Telescope. The WIYN (pronounced "win") opened in 1994 and is operated jointly by the universities of Wisconsin, Indiana, and Yale and by the National Optical Astronomy Observatories. It used mainly for wide-field spectroscopic observations.
