Leon Cooper

Leon Cooper is an American physicist. From 1974 he was a professor at Brown University, Rhode Island. With John Bardeen and John Schrieffer, he shared the 1972 Nobel Prize in Physics for research in superconductivity. They demonstrated that electrons in a superconductor arrange themselves in so-called "Cooper pairs", rather than randomly dispersing energy and momentum.
