A condyloid joint: the metacarpophalangeal joint.

A condyloid joint is a type of synovial joint in which two distinct convex surfaces articulate with two concave surfaces. The movements of flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction are possible together with a small amount of rotation. The metacarpophalangeal joints (knuckle joints) are good examples.
