Effelsberg Radio Observatory

Effelsberg Radio Telescope

The Effelsberg Radio Observatory is the observatory of the Max-Planck Institut für Radioastronomie. Located in the Eifel mountains, 40 km southwest of Bonn, it is home to a 100-m radio telescope, opened in 1971, which was the largest fully-steerable dish in the world until the completion of the Green Bank Telescope.
