Bloch, Konrad Emil (1912–2000)



Konrad Bloch
German-born American biochemist who studied the metabolism of fatty acids, and in particular the way cholesterol is synthesized in the body. For this work he shared the 1964 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Feodor Lynen.
