Bonnet, Charles (1720–1793)

Swiss entomologist and botanist who argued in support of pluralism, the great chain of being, and transmigration of souls in his Contemplation de la nature (1764) and La palingéné philosophique. His writings, translated into German, Italian, and English, continued to exert an influence a century later when they were revived by Flammarion, Pezzani, and others.
