    direct ascent

    A boost trajectory that goes directly to the final burnout and coast trajectory without the need for a parking orbit or staging location. Direct ascent of a spacecraft from Earth to the Moon was one of the options considered for the Apollo program and was the method depicted for this journey in Destination Moon.
