linear algebra

The study of vectors and vector spaces. Linear algebra has a central place in modern mathematics, is used widely in both abstract algebra and functional analysis, and finds a concrete representation in the form of analytical geometry. Linear algebra began as the study of vectors in two- and three-dimensions but has now been extended to a generalized n-space.
