optics

Optics is the science of light and vision. Physical optics deals with the nature of light (see also color; diffraction; interference; polarized light). Geometrical optics considers the behavior of light in optical instruments (see optical aberration; camera; dispersion; optical lens; microscope; mirror; prism; reflection; refraction; spectrum; telescope). Physiological optics is concerned with vision (see eye).
