Paschen, Friedrich (1865–1947)



Friedrich Paschen
German physicist and a pioneer of spectroscopy, best known for his experimental work on infrared spectra and for explaining the Paschen-Back effect, which concerns the splitting of spectral ines in an intense magnetic field.
