Phanerozoic era




Geological timescale that describes the whole of time that has elapsed since the end of the Precambrian period. It is the eon of visible life – the period of time represented by rock strata in which fossils appear, running from about 570 million years ago through to the present and containing the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras.
