TIMED (Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetic Dynamics satellite)
The first science mission in NASA’s Solar Connections Program; it is managed for NASA by The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. TIMED is designed to investigate Earth’s mesosphere and lower thermosphere, at a height of 100 to 290 km – the least explored and understood region of our atmosphere.
