Also known as monolia or candidiasis, a mucous membrane infection with the fungus Candida, seen as multiple white spots often affecting the mouth or vagina. Patients with diabetes or kidney failure and those on steroids and/or antibiotics are particularly at risk. Antifungal antibiotics are required.
