James Watson is an American biochemist who shared with Francis Crick and M. H. Wilkins the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work with Crick establishing the double helix molecular model of DNA. His personalized account of the research, The Double Helix (1968), became a best-seller.
