GOMS (Geostationary Operational Meteorological Satellite)

GOMS (Geostationary Operational Meteorological Satellite) is a Soviet weather satellite placed in geostationary orbit over the Indian Ocean; also known as Elektro. Originally proposed for a maiden flight in 1978–1979, GOMS has suffered both technical and budgetary problems.
