Best, Charles Herbert (1899–1978)


Charles Herbert Best
Canadian physiologist who, with Frederick Banting, discovered insulin in 1921. Best was head of the department of physiology at the University of Toronto (1929–65) and chief of the Banting-Best department of medical research there after Bating's death.
