hemorrhoids

Also called piles, enlarged veins at the junction of the rectum and anus, which may bleed or come down through the anal canal, usually on defecation, and which are made worse by constipation and straining. Sentinal pile is a skin tag at the anus. Bleeding from the rectum may be a sign of bowel cancer and this may need to be ruled out before bleeding is attributed to piles.
