Nova (rocket)

A proposed post-Saturn launch vehicle for space missions of 1970 and beyond. Larger even than the Saturn V, the Nova would have been capable of placing a manned spacecraft on a direct ascent to the Moon. A nuclear-powered upper stage equipped with NERVA engines had been considered for it. See also Apollo Project.
