tadpole

tadpoles
A larva of a frog or toad. An aquatic larva is characteristic of all amphibians but in salamanders and newts it is similar in appearance to the adult. In frogs and toads, the tadpole is globular with a long muscular tail. A full metamorphosis must be undergone to achieve adult form.
