Equ, gen. Equulei)</h1> <hr> <br> The Little Horse. Equuleus is an ancient but obscure northern <a href="../C/constell.html">constellation</a> that represents a small horse's head and shoulders. It lies between <a href="../P/Peg.html">Pegasus</a> and <a href="../D/Del.html">Delphinus</a> and ranks ahead only of <a href="../C/Cru.html">Crux</a> in size. Its only star brighter than magnitude 4 is Kitalpha (Alpha Equ), a binary star (visual magnitude 3.92, absolute magnitude 0.13, spectral type G0III+A5V, distance 186 light-years). <br> <br> <br>
