Octans (abbr. Oct, gen. Octantis)
The Octant; a faint constellation around
the south celestial pole that includes Sigma Octantis, the South Pole Star.
Its only star above magnitude 4.0 is Nu Oct (visual magnitude 3.73, absolute
magnitude 2.10, spectral type K0III, distance 69 light-years).
